This position is located in the Logistics Management Service Line, Mail Section for the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System (NAVAHCS), Prescott, Arizona. This position provides enhanced delivery and reproduction functions for staff and patients throughout NAVAHCS and is responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing mail for the NAVAHCS.
Duties

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Receives all facility mail from external sources e.g., US Postal Service (USPS), United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express (FedEx), etc.
Receives and separates facility internal mail for redistribution within the facility from mail to be delivered externally.
Sorts mail for internal distribution by mail routing symbol and/or mail delivery point.
Picks up and delivers mail to all delivery points in the facility.
Receives, opens, reads, and presorts incoming materials into principal classifications.
Assesses mail pieces to determine the necessity for control and/or date stamping.
Prepares outgoing mail for processing by sorting into accounting groups, subgrouping by class of service and further sorting by machinability.
Sets up operates, adjusts, and monitors the operation of single or multiple function equipment such as copiers, duplicators, mail processing machines, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify at the GS-04 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications:
-General Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates your ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience may include: receiving and separating internal mail for redistribution from mail to be delivered externally; sorting mail for internal distribution; picking up and delivering mail to delivery points within a delivery route; setting up, operating, adjusting, and monitoring the operation of single or multiple function equipment such as copiers, duplicators, mail processing machines, etc. -OR-
-Education: Two (2) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) -OR-
-Combined Education/Experience: Equivalent combinations of education and general experience (as described above) to meet the requirements at the GS-4 level. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: Delivery routes require walking and traveling outside between buildings in all types of weather. The incumbent is required to move wheeled postage hampers weighing up to 80 pounds. Incumbent is required to individually lift and place parcels weighing up to 50 pounds and, with assistance, parcels weighing up to 70 pounds. Work requires standing and walking for extended periods. There is also some physical exertion necessary to set up, operate, and monitor the operation of various reproduction equipment. Lifts, on a recurring basis, a variety of moderately heavy materials and supplies.
