You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU-SA) of NAVMEDRSCH UNIT SAN ANTONIO.
Duties
You will implement and manage command policy for clearance of all material intended for public release.
You will prepare key messages, talking points and public affairs guidance for command issues that may generate external or media interest.
You will provide oversight of the publication submission process regarding sensitivity of authrozied publications.
You will advise and assist command senior leadership in implementing community relations strategies planning projects and event.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Planning, implementing, and executing strategic public affairs programs and campaigns to effectively communicate the command story.
Preparing and conducting media and public affairs training for leadership and public affairs staff as required.
Ensuring implementation and management of command policy for clearance of all material intended for public release.
Reading and editing all publications and presentations prior to release of presentation.
Providing oversight of the publication submission process regarding sensitivity of authored publications.
Advising and assisting command senior leadership in implementing community relations strategies and planning projects and events.
