About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Eisenhower, GA.
Duties
Determine the network administrative/technical requirements and network architecture, infrastructure, and facilities necessary for upgrading components, eliminating points of failure, and consolidating deployed networks.
Conduct cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership and capacity studies.
Analyze user requirements; develop specifications and tests automated information systems (AIS); develop plans for integrating various AIS into a wide-area network (WAN); and analyze and evaluate software and protocols for customer utilization.
Prepare standard operating procedures (SOP) and reviews all forms of guidance to ensure daily operations are completed safely and efficiently.
Perform/assign the maintenance of client and server files, databases, servers, and installed software and applications.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Position requires Top Secret security access with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program: Must sign a Dept. of the Army (DA) Form 5019, and must pass urinalysis testing prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- In accordance with DOD 8570 and AR 25-2, incumbent must be Information Assurance (IA) Management Level I and IA Technical Level I trained and certified.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450. Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by updating the configuration of enterprise network hardware and software to meet changing requirements and improve security; diagnosing and/or resolving personal computer (PC) hardware/software problems in response to customer reported incidents; analyzing data to identify/eliminate deficiencies (e.g., contiguous file allocation, file reorganization, space shortages).
The specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
(1) Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others;

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
