About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Business Management Directorate, Information Management & Support Directorate.

Duties

Serves as the Cybersecurity Specialist with organization-wide authority to protect all Information Technology (IT) assets, systems, networks, data, and information. Administers and monitors implementation of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF); reviews certification and accreditation documentation to ensure it is compliant with RMF standards. Determine, formulate, and make effective Cybersecurity/Information Assurance (IA) policy and establish IA guidelines for the command. Participates in meetings and workgroups addressing Cybersecurity/Information Assurance (IA) issues.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position is eligible for certification IAW DoD 8140.03.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Prepares information systems for certification and accreditation; 2) accomplishes technical, analytical and advisory functions pertinent to the development of local policies, development of short and long range IT planning; 3) Identifies vulnerabilities by performing information technology risk assessments on multiple information systems; and 4) Served as the primary source of expertise, and focal point concerning IT cybersecurity/information assurance programs and initiatives specifically in the area of system certification and accreditation (C&A). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
