You will serve as a FOREIGN ASSISTANCE SPECIALIST in the Security Assistance Branch of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will assist in all aspects of security cooperation education and training programs.
You will provide direct support to training and education programs of all assigned countries.
You will ensure special training needs of countries are considered along with other world-wide requirements, including submission of sufficient justification for the needed training.
You will track and report on assigned programs in accordance with implementing laws, regulations, and policy.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Must be able to obtain level II International Affairs Professional Certification as defined by the Department of Defense International Affairs certification Program Guidelines (DSCA Directive 5012 effective 1 May 2008).
Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in the development, management, execution and support of worldwide security cooperation and training program.
GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in all aspects of security cooperation education and training program.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the GS-11 position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
