You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (OA) in the Employee Programs Branch; Labor and Employee Relations Division; CHRO-East of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will be responsible for administering the civilian Drug Free Workplace Program (DFWP).
You will provide assistance to employees seeking general information concerning employee benefit programs, such as health insurance, life insurance, beneficiaries, and thrift savings
You will assist the Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA) program manager and HR Specialists with actions, projects, and reports.
You will perform clerical and technical duties in support of the processing of disciplinary and adverse actions, grievances, and appeals.
You will prepare, create, copy, edit, revise, file, retrieve, store, and print a wide range of complex Labor and Employee Relations (LER) documents.
You will be responsible for administrative/clerical functions associated with the Awards program.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Human Resources (HR) assistance work supporting HR functions for an organization. Examples of specialized experience may include: supporting HR programs such as awards, employee benefits, drug-free workplace, labor and employee relations, or Federal Employees Compensation Act; researching HR rules, policies, or regulations to ensure personnel actions meet requirements.
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting Human Resources (HR) or personnel functions for an organization. Examples of specialized experience may include: reviewing or processing personnel actions within an HR information system; maintaining personnel records; scheduling and tracking employee development training or testing; assisting employees with HR or personnel specific inquiries.
