You will serve as an EVENTS COORDINATOR ASSISTANT in the Public Affairs Office (N102) of RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND.
Salary Range for GS-07 level: $52,022 - $67,628
Salary Range for GS-09 level: $63,633 - $82,720
Duties
You will have knowledge of military ceremonial honors, courtesies, observances, etiquette, and other protocol issues.
You will have excellent customer service skills.
You will have knowledge of principles, methods, processes, and techniques of protocol to act as the technical authority on all protocol matters.
You will have knowledge of procedures, processes, and activities required to make successful arrangements for conferences, outreach events, meetings, and other gatherings.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Night, weekend, or holiday attendance required 3-4 times per year, flexible shifts required for weekly Pass-In-Review, or in conjunction with tours or visits.
Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of the official procedures or system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions to facilitate communication, understanding, and cooperation between individuals, governments and cultures; 2) Handling international relations for government officials, bodies such the military, universities and colleges, or cultural institutions; 3) Overseeing the completion of projects that demand varying degrees of involvement and directly support disparate elements of various organizations; and 4) Applying knowledge and understanding of military ceremonial honors, courtesies, observances, etiquette, and other protocol issues.
GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding the official procedures or system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions to facilitate communication, understanding, and cooperation between individuals, governments and cultures; 2) Understanding military ceremonial honors, courtesies, etiquette, and other protocol issues; and 3) Ensuring completion of projects that demand varying degrees of involvement and directly support disparate elements of various organizations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-09
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
GS-07
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
