The New Mexico VA Healthcare Network is recruiting for a Program Support Assistant. The incumbent will function as the point of contact for patient safety policies and activities developed by the National Center for Patient Safety (NCPS).
Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform general patient safety programmatic functions on a routine basis.
Serve as the secondary facility point of contact for Patient Safety Alerts/Advisories, including tracking system actions.
Analyze data, identifies trends and concerns of issues.
Maintain and monitor program requirements/validation criteria for the facility's patient safety program.
Train, and direct patient safety activities of similar personnel within the facility, such as risk managers and quality managers.
Provide general clerical skills, as needed (i.e. Prepares memos and reports, maintains professional telephone etiquette, makes and distributes copies, etc.)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service). Specialized experience includes: maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with rules and regulations; provide quality control checks on data; provide timely, accurate and complete responses to inquiries using a variety of communication methods including telephone and written correspondence.; and utilize word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and software to manage information.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-07 level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
