You will serve as a Management Analyst in the Risk Management (RM) Division of Clinical Operations BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY.
Duties
You will analyze and conduct routine special studies to identify problem areas and collaborate with risk management staff on findings and solutions.
You will utilize automated information systems and their functions in order to prepare, analyze, and research data in relation to risk management.
You will interact and effectively communicate with individuals and groups from all levels of management.
You will analyze risk management reports and make recommendations regarding the thoroughness and credibility of the report based upon specific criteria.

- This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience leading small teams in accomplishing task-oriented projects solving problems and identifying and addressing issues and tracking timelines for date sensitive projects.
Experience communicating with military and civilian reviewers and department heads in writing and on the phone to obtain needed information and documents.
Experience tracking all projects to completion, prioritizing cases to meet established timelines.
Experience with database management, completing entries and running reports.
Experience with the identification, analysis and plan for problem solving to include obtaining staff and supervisor input to remove barriers to success.
Experience as a risk manager or a credentials coordinator a plus.
Experience using the Department of Defense (DoD) Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS) risk management or credentials module a plus.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities
directly related/necessary to do the work of the position:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
