You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Administrative Assistance Unit (AAU) of the Operations Branch, G1, on the staff of the Commander, Marine Forces Reserve (COMMARFORRES), New Orleans, LA.
Duties
You will maintain cognizance of pay and allowance processes and procedures associated with Reserve Component Marines.
You will perform research to obtain and present material and information needed by the Administrative Assistance Unit (AAU), Operations Section and Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) G1 as it pertains to the training of Marine Administrators.
You will generate management and training requirements of the Reserve and Independent Duty Administration Courses (RIDACs) identified faculty members and support personnel.
You will collect and compile Military Pay and Personnel Record metrics, and data from a variety of sources in order to prepare reports of results, and perform data analysis of MARFORRES Marines.
You will identify statistical trends, and develop tools to identify administrative readiness of MARFORRES Marines.
You will provide general support to the AAU and Operations Section as it relates to training, education, and data analytics to include conferences, workshops, exercises, and Course Content Review Board (CCRB).
You will provide general support to the AAU and Operations Section as it relates to academic engagement, strategic communication efforts, monthly data reporting requirements, and other events as may be directed.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Researching and collecting data from multiple and disparate systems. (i.e. Power BI, STATA (both analytical databases), COGNOS (MCTFS), STRS (Service Treatment Records System), TFSMS (Total Force Structure Management System), DTMS (Defense Travel Management System), etc).
2) Providing detailed reports, briefings, and presentations, to higher level management.
3) Applying evaluative methods to ascertain the efficiency and effectiveness of agency policies and procedures and recommending and implementing improvement where necessary.
4) Providing administrative duties/support related to training, education, and data analytics to include conferences, workshops, exercises, monthly data reporting requirements, and other events

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
