About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Fort Eisenhower, GA.
Duties
Serve as an INFOSEC administrator required to conduct IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) network security scanning of systems throughout the RNEC area of responsibility (AOR).
Assess the security posture of classified and unclassified IS with respect to Anti-Virus (AV) protection using a variety of automated tools throughout the RNEC AOR.
Manage and ensures continued compliance with applicable policy for the security, configuration, operation, maintenance, and installation.
Remediates identified vulnerabilities on classified and unclassified ISs by using automated tools to distribute required system updates throughout the RNEC AOR.
Installs, configures, operates, and upgrades a variety of protective network appliances and applications such as firewalls, intrusion detection and protection systems, wireless intrusions detection system, web filtering devices.
Conduct forensics analysis resulting from cybersecurity violations, unexplained IS performance anomalies and incidents, and classified data spills.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance based on a Special Background Investigation (SBI) and be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- The employee is required to rotate through supported facilities or travel to regionally supported sites.
- This position requires incumbent to maintain a valid driver’s license.
- This is a mission essential position whereby the incumbent is required to report for duty or remain in place during inclement weather conditions or other appropriate emergency conditions in order to carry out the assigned mission.
- The incumbent may be required to work overtime, other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and call-back, and emergency shift work. May be required to work shift work if the organization moves to a 24/7 operation.
- This position may require the incumbent to occasionally travel up to 25% of time away
from normal duty station.
- This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain all applicable IA certifications (Baseline and Computing Environment) as well as the required CE training within 6 months of hire IAW DOD Directive 8140.01, dated 11 August 2015.
- Nondisclosure Agreement: This position requires access to classified information. Incumbent of the position will be required to complete a Standard Form (SF) 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).
- Incumbent must sign a Privileged-level Access Agreement (PAA).

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by securing computer baselines by assessing baselines for required security settings and configurations and ensuring compliancy with Risk management framework (RMF) standards; ensure continued compliance with applicable policy for the security, configuration, operation, maintenance, and installation; and resolve security vulnerabilities that cannot be resolved through automated means.
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
