Duties
Provides oversight and guidance regarding modeling, simulation and analyses efforts and their results.
Working with the strategic developmental planning team, drafts annual RW priorities for RW Front Office approval; develops internal munitions development roadmap and investment guidance.
Provides guidance and oversees the strategic developmental planning (SDP) processes to enable strategic decisions in a dynamic environment including utilizing modeling, simulation, and analysis.
Guides development of RW's POM/PB investment planners and works closely with RW's finance and contracting teams on budget execution strategies for both near, mid and long-term planning requirements.
Aligns RW priorities and works with Chief Scientist, Chief Engineer, other RW product division leadership and the Partnership's branch to identify, cultivate and develop strategic partnerships.
Works closely with the Capability Area Planners, SDP Team, Mission Area Leads and other key stakeholders to identify/predict technology gaps and future RW technical core competency requirements.
Interfaces with HQ AFRL, other Technical Directorates Mission/Stakeholder Organizations, including AFLCMC, MAJCOMs, as well as Department of the AF/HQ AF staffs to identify, define, prioritize and predict future weapons investment recommendations.
Provides advice to RW leadership on investment goals and potential contractual approaches. Works closely with RW's Advanced Programs to ensure proper alignment and risk mitigation strategies.
Serves as a Key Advisor to the Director, executive board and executive council members on the Munitions Directorate's investment portfolio and RW's strategic development processes and procedures.
As necessary, oversees workflow activities of assigned division members to include required training, professional development, feedback, awards/decorations, administrative support requirements, etc.
Responsible for supporting and leading Division level staff duties including, but not limited to, tasks, reporting, personnel actions, mentoring, Division budget execution and formulation.
Coordinates with the Operations Division on infrastructure requirements (e.g., facilities, information technology, network access unclass/class, etc.) on behalf the Strategy Division.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

- This is a supervisory position. Incumbent may be subject to a supervisory probation period.

Qualifications
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
Serves as Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Munitions Directorate (RW) Strategy Deputy Division Chief, responsible for developing strategic methodologies and posturing information to guide RW in near-, mid-, and long-term activities to meet Department of the Air Force operational needs.

Desired Qualifications:
Both education and demonstrated experience conducting unclassified and classified modeling, simulation and analysis, wargames, and operational weapon concept development is desired.
Experience effectively leading teams (Military, Civilian and Contractor personnel) and building coalitions and consensus among stakeholders.
Demonstrated partnering with Industry, Academia, MAJCOMs, Joint Staff, Inter-Agency, Allies, stakeholders and partners is highly desired. Operational experience is helpful, but not required.
An advanced degree is desired.
An understanding of the DOD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES) including the POM is also desired.
A candidate will exceed expectations if he/she served in positions for a USAF or DOD organization, in which he/she conducted developmental planning activities at MAJCOM/Center or above.
