You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the DON, Naval Reserve Center (NRC) of NRC MEMPHIS.
Duties
You will prepare financial/accounting reports related to reserve pay and inactive duty training travel transactions and operate associated accounting systems.
You will provide all personnel services necessary to support the Navy Operations Support Center’s mission and objectives within the established framework and guidance of the Navy Personnel.
You will maintain Enlisted Service Records, Pay and Personnel references, Reserve pay transactions, Reserve pay and allowances, Reserve Personnel Transactions, and Inactive Duty Training billet management.
You will maintain records in accordance to Records Management policy and guidance.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a 2 week Reserve Personnel and Pay Management Course within 6 months.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with data tracking systems and maintaining accurate records.
Experience turning tracked data into reports and analyzing pulled reports.
Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience preparing correspondence for distribution, maintaining proper grammar and formality.
