You will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist (SYSADMIN/NETWORK) Lead for Wargaming Division, Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory
( MARINE CORPS DEPUTY COMMANDANT for COMBAT DEVELOPMENT AND INTEGRATION).
Duties
You will have mastery knowledge of advanced level Microsoft System Administration or equivalent with knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Operating System and Active Directory OU administration.
You will have mastery knowledge of network design, approaches, and secure configurations, in order to maintain highly available, fault tolerant and redundant systems.
You will have Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and encryption technologies to safeguard stored data and data in transit.
You will have knowledge of cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services to design, host, and manage Platforms as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service and Software as a Service concepts and capabilities.
You will have knowledge of systems administration methods and procedures; and performance monitoring methods to schedule, monitor, and verify the integrity of system backups and restore files as necessary.
You will have knowledge of various types of contracts, techniques for contracting or procurement, and contract negotiation and administration.
You will have knowledge of the principles and methods of cost-benefit analysis.
You will have knowledge of preparing, justifying and administering IT budgets, monitoring expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs and policies.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Information Assurance Level II certification.
Qualifications
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band (GS-12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Information Technology (IT) Specialist (SYSADMIN/NETWORK) Leader performing duties such as:
1. Planning, distributing, coordinating, and monitoring work assignments of others; evaluating work performance and providing feedback to others on their performance; ensuring that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
2. Protecting and defending information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This includes experience with security technical implementation guides (STIGs), scanning, host-based security systems and assured compliance assessment solutions (ACAS).
3. Planning, implementing, tracking and/or evaluate configuration/requirement changes across an organization.
4. Providing functional and/or technical support to customers to ensure validation of requirements and delivery of Information Technology capabilities.
5. Demonstrating experience in planning, development and/or managing processes across the information systems/services life cycle to ensure Information Technology capabilities meet current and future organizational missions.
6. Experience in work that involves the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the systems environment in support of the organization's IT architecture and business needs.
