About the Position: This is an Administrative Support Assistant, GS-0303-07 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD), Omaha District, Planning, Programs & Project Management Division.

Duties

Perform a variety of clerical duties to include: receives visitors and phone calls. Provide information requested or direct to staff members those contacts that require attention or action Maintain correspondence, travel and personnel action related files as prescribed by regulation; maintain regulations, policies and procedures; orders. Obtain and handle office mail in a daily manner, sort and distribute mail. Maintain suspense logs as appropriate, and other clerical duties to include drafting and finalizing correspondence. Utilize a personal computer with various software to prepare reports, graphs, charts, etc. to complete tasks. Initiate, develop, process, monitor, report, and resolve issues related to requests for personnel actions. Research position classification files for appropriate position descriptions, and research pay plan schedules for appropriate pay criteria.

Providing administrative support of management to an office with tasks such as; maintaining property inventory and personnel actions; AND 2.) Experience in managing an office budget such as; managing credit cards, initiating travel requests and/or vouchers, and ordering and maintaining office supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
