Duties
Serves as a regional/functional Desk Officer in DLA’s Agency Synchronization Operations Center (ASOC) with ensuring integrated logistics support to DLA customers.
Conducts analysis of DLA worldwide customer support in peacetime and war environments, as well as the impact of Agency operations and policies on that support
Provides situational awareness of world events, synthesizing information from sources worldwide, and coordinates with Major Subordinate Commands (MSC) and regional commanders to develop a Common Operational Picture for DLA Senior Leadership.
Coordinates with the applicable Service National Account Managers and Combatant Command (CCMD) Liaison Officers (LNO) to ensure DLA activities meet warfighter priorities of the Service Staffs, Joint Staff, and Combatant Commands.
Works in coordination with DLA ASOC Plans, Exercises and Readiness Branch to ensure the effective synchronization of the Current Operations in Federal, Joint Chief of Staff, CCMD and Service level exercises and appropriate linkage to OPLAN execution.
Works with assigned CCMD LNO and regional counterparts, gathering current data from the MSCs, providing informational briefings to assigned LNOs, ensuring warfighter requirements are properly channeled and integrated into future contract initiatives.
Coordinates with, and tasks the appropriate MSCs and Regional Commands through the ASOC Battle Captain as necessary to develop a Common Operational Picture and Operations Executive Summary (EXSUM) for senior members of DLA leadership.
Upon request or given contingency, performs watch duties as assigned.
Collects and evaluates exercise and/or contingency operations examples to use as a basis for improving and revising agency doctrine, directives, instructions, or Support Plans.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Knowledge of Operational Logistics within the Department of Defense from a Joint perspective.
Researching, creating, collaborating, and sharing information products to communicate logistics requirements.
Detailed knowledge of complex military service (Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force) supply chain operations, organizations, functions and their working interrelationships to DLA operations.
Expert knowledge of analytical methods and techniques to conduct a detailed analysis of customer requirements, formulate feasibility and sustainability.
Substantive knowledge and mastery of functions, processes, and principles of management, and of methods used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning management principles.
Ability to effectively communicate information and distill requirements from the DLA Planners to current operations personnel the comprehensive analysis of supportability assessments for specific OPLAN/CONPLAN and related scenarios.
Ability to conceptualize, develop, and recommend DLA-wide solutions in support of internal and external customers.
Comprehensive knowledge of management practices, principles and techniques, DLA policies and procedures, and the impact of DoD policies which affect management and the oversight of the mission.
Expert knowledge of analytical methods and techniques to conduct a detailed analysis of customer requirements, formulate feasibility and sustainability.
Expert knowledge logistics systems; wartime and emergency logistics doctrines, organization, and planning systems.
Mastery of organizational principles, with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics management concepts, policies, methods, and regulatory requirements, especially those that govern logistical support planning.
The application of advanced analytical and statistical methods and techniques within a highly stressful, fast paced Environment.
