You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the MEDICAL DISTRIBUTION BRANCH (PERS-407) of NMPC.

Duties

You will prepare, review, and process all enlisted personnel action requests for advanced medical/dental "C" school applications within the Hospital Corpsman rating. You will review, analyze, and update data and information in various information systems such as Enlisted Assignment Information System, My Navy Assignment, SalesForce, Electronic Military Personnel Records System, and others. You will write enlisted personnel distribution orders for HM "C" Schools with qualified service members from the Fleet and HM A School graduates. You will provide administrative and technical advice to the Branch Head and Detailers concerning requirements for applying for advanced medical/dental training programs. You will provide timely and accurate communication and information on seat availability, application package status, orders status, and/or direct inquiries to constituents, command representatives, and Detailers.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing administrative support for the placement and distribution of military enlisted personnel by preparing, reviewing, and processing enlisted personnel request actions; 2) Consulting and making recommendations regarding the issuance of enlisted orders for various types of temporary duty; 3) Preparing briefs and reports about current policy related to advanced schools and training programs, in addition to assisting detailers in providing career counseling to Sailors; 4) Reviewing, analyzing and updating data in various military personnel information systems; and 5) Providing administrative and technical advice to the Branch Head and other detailers concerning requirements for applying to advanced training programs.
