You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Advanced Sensor Technologies Branch; Advanced Sensor Systems Division; Electromagnetic & Sensor Systems Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. If selected, you will serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-05 is equivalent to GS-13/14.
This position is salary capped GS-13 Step 10 (currently $145,617). See "Additional Information" section.
Duties
You will work within Risk Management Framework (RMF) to provide protection of computer systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, disclosure, disruption, modification, copying or destruction and ensuring that data is not lost.
You will conduct strategic computer, networking, and IT facility infrastructure planning, researching, selling ideas to management, implementing the plan, and training users, while working within budget, personnel, facility and program constraints.
You will troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, configure, and assure the reliable operation of computer and network systems, software, and infrastructure.
You will develop plans, processes, and procedures; and implement policies, plans, and procedures for security and in Information Assurance (IA) systems that follow the JSIG and RMF requirements.
You will acquire and manage the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk.
You will advise appropriate senior leadership or Authorizing Official of changes affecting the organization's cybersecurity posture.
You will advise senior management (e.g., CIO) on cost/benefit analysis of information security programs, policies, processes, and systems, and elements.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for framework role 722, level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Information Technology (IT) work to oversee, coordinate, or evaluate IT security plans, policies, procedures, or measures to ensure they are properly applied to IT systems or networks. Examples of qualifying experience may include: analyzing, assessing, and documenting cyber security/information assurance capabilities and services; verifying compliance with cyber security/information assurance requirements; identifying vulnerabilities of information technology systems; ensuring networks are certified and accredited for information security.
