About the Position: This position is located at the Military Police School at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri. Ft Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Ft Leonard Wood.

Duties

Produce basic police training to law enforcement students in accordance with governing regulations, directives, and the approved US Army Military Police School (USAMPS) Program of Instruction. Utilize law enforcement weapons expertise and skill to conduct weapons training in rifle, pistol, shotgun, and non-lethal weapons/munitions employment. Conduct physical fitness examinations of students consisting of 1.5 mile runs, and pushups. Participate in USAMPS training design and development systems to constantly evaluate and write state of the art police curriculum. Plan and analyze Department of the Army/Department of Defense wide law enforcement training. Coordinate training requirements with all assigned units to ensure that requested police training needs are met in a timely manner with existing resources.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• The employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
• The employee may be required to work overtime to include weekends and federal holidays, out of cycle, or unscheduled training or on an emergency basis and may be recalled to duty from scheduled time off.
• This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
• This position requires the employee to have the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
• The incumbent must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid state driver's license.
• This position requires the employee to be a successful graduate of the USAMPS courses assigned, but not limited to, USACPA, Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course, and the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) model.
• Successful completion of all assigned courses will be completed as scheduled and within six months of employment.
• This position requires the employee to be certified as a United States Army Civilian Police Academy (USACPA) Instructor within the first 12 months of employment.
• This position requires the employee to operate, maintain, and receipt for various weapons systems used within training.
• This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
• Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense.
• This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
• The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program). Must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• This position requires the employee to be able to pass a pre-employment and annual medical examination in order to be able to perform physically arduous training.
• Incumbent is subject to an annual medical clearance examination, including the wearing of self contained breathing apparatus, to determine their suitability for this position.
• Further, physical requirements include full use of all limbs, joints, muscles, vision, balance, and hearing.
• Incumbent must have the ability to climb onto and into commercial and combat vehicles, stand for several hours duration and lift, on occasion, up to 80 pounds.
• Must obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
