Duties

You will conduct crisis action planning, coordination and provide guidance for the force deployment operational commitments. You will plan, coordinate, integrate and execute warfighting exercises and contingency operations. You will synchronize service level training exercises, Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) training and will coordinate with other commands on range/training area issues and training initiatives. You will oversee mission-oriented programs that impact upon the equipment, force structure, readiness, sustainability, and warfighting capabilities. You will analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems. You will identify resources needed (e.g., staff, funding, equipment, facilities) by interpreting analyses for achieving operational targets. You will develop briefs and reports, operational Summary reviews, operational requirements documents and mission Essential task lists. You will lead projects critical for planning and organizing work, conducting meetings, monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure strategic and operational objectives are met.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Conducting crisis action planning and coordination, developing operational policies and procedures, coordinating joint warfighting exercises; develop long-range training, exercise and employment plans for an organization; and collaborate with internal and external customers on the integration of effort in operations, planning, exercises, and program development.
