Duties

1, Serves as an intelligence analyst engaged in technical analysis and production activities. 2. Participates in the analysis of multi-source intelligence, takes part in the evaluation of both classified and unclassified information to understand adversary strengths, weaknesses, and centers of gravity. 3. Participates in intelligence production activities. Within a defined area of responsibility or special assignment, participates in semi-complex component, combatant command, and combat support agency production requirements. 4. Serves as a certified Intelligence Watch Officer; supports Operational Watch Center (a 24 hour a day/7 days a week,/365 days a year operation) by monitoring adversary missile launch threats to ensure proper allocation of Global Missile Defense Forces and Assets in order to defend the United States.

  • Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Incumbent may be subject to psychological screening/ polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position.

Qualifications

This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of research and collection methods, and analytical applications, in order to develop intelligence analysis by extrapolation from incomplete data; to validate analytical .conclusions; and to integrate contributions from other analysts and organizations in order to prepare all-source intelligence products. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of intelligence research, collection methods analytical applications, and techniques that includes the evaluation of one or more diverse sources of information utilizing multi-source intelligence information systems in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments of specified adversary ballistic and cruise missiles systems, their capabilities, operation, and employment, as well as of intelligence watch operations and online collaboration forums and methods. 2. Knowledge of conventional analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce analyses of information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation with minimum supervision. 3. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations, especially those agencies/organizations involved in producing ballistic and cruise missile intelligence. 4. Ability to conduct unbiased research, identify appropriate available systems/data sources, and produce collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients. 5. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and verbal presentations. 6. Ability to effectively maintain control of classified material, assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of data estimates, and make effective recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT. 1. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. 2, Over time may be required as workload demands and in some cases with no-notice due to urgency of time­ sensitive matters. Duties may require shift work, overtime, holidays and/or weekends to support operational, contingency crisis, or exercise requirements. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
