Duties
Provide administrative support and technical assistance to the Chief Quality Officer and Chief Medical Officer
Perform a variety of duties related to the administration of hospital safety, quality management and performance improvement programs.
Compile statistical data on accidents, injuries and illnesses, and near-misses.
Schedule and coordinate training events (e.g. safety program, subject matter expert visitor agenda, accident prevention, and safe work practices) for Safety Champions and hospital employees.
Author meeting minutes for various committees according to committee chair guidance and follow up when committee meeting minutes are not routed correctly and/or edits to minutes are required.
Conduct staff accountability during staff emergency exercise or actual evacuation events
In collaboration with the Chief Quality Officer, Quality Management Department, collect and compile data and assist with management operational and training budgets and employee training status reports.
Maintain required stock levels of office supplies.
Receive incoming correspondence and direct to the appropriate Department.
Coordinate TDY travel for the staff in support of Joint Commission and/or patient safety and quality related topics.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes utilizing office automation software to compile statistical data, develop, design and prepare various reports, establish, maintain, track and update database reports.
