About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Educational Resources Division, Tacoma, Washington. The work involves a wide variety of activities, problems or situations common to Graduate Medical Education and residency training programs at MAMC for which incumbent is responsible. Duties

Advise and assist the Administrative Director of Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education and Chief in day-to-day management of the residency program coordinators in the graduate medical education training programs. Coordinate with the Office of the Surgeon General (OTSG) in obtaining training quotas and controls the allocation of those quotas for participation. Answer inquiries from trainees requesting to attend courses. Responsible for the logistics of the ACGME Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER). Serve as the liaison between trainees and the Army Medical Command. Plan and schedule work to be accomplished by subordinates. Give advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation NACI (Tier 1).
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 05% of the time.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunization.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management or health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education ManagementLeadershipPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
