About the Position: About the Position: Serves as Assistant Director of Operations and Emergency Management within Madigan. This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Tacoma is located on the shores of Commencement Bay, within pristine eyesight of Mount Rainier. World-class museums, hotels and theaters.
Duties
Serve as Assistant Director of Operations and Emergency Management or in the absence of the Director, the Director of Operations and Emergency Management.
Assign tasks and provide guidance to staff offices in response to urgent or routine requests for information and recommendations on issues of plans, operations, training, emergency management, current events strategy and plans, command and control.
Ensure that agency projects are managed properly and completed in a timely manner while monitoring continuity and quality of actions.
Develop and execute guidance for the coordination of efforts for post and local community wide partnership related to events ensuring that all resources are utilized properly, no duplication of effort and that all requirements are satisfied.
Responsible for operations, plans, training, and supervision of the various missions and operational sections of the Medical Center.
Direct through subordinate supervisors, 30-40 military and civilian personnel.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
