You will serve as a OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in the DEAN OF STUDENTS OFFICE of the NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.

Duties

You will review training reports, documents, records, or data to verify completeness and correctness. You will add, retrieve, and remove information from paper files and records. You will create reports or documents using Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Word, Excel, Access) for office automation duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance as a condition of employment

Qualifications

GS-06 Requirements Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing automated systems (i.e., Word and/or Excel) to draft correspondence, including emails, letters, and training forms, in accordance with the correspondence manual; 2) Maintaining a suspense file to track all action items and due dates; 3) Maintaining office files in accordance with regulations; and 4) Performing data entry into a web-based database. GS-05 Requirements Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining a suspense file to track all action items and due dates; 2) Creating and maintaining personnel files and special binders in accordance with regulations; 3) Entering data into a web-based database; and 4) Maintaining inventory of office supplies. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify for GS-05 position with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Four (4) years above High School Diploma.
