You will serve as an OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in the College of Operational Maritime Warfare Department of the NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.
Duties
You will provide the required clerical assistance, coordination, and quality control to support the College of Maritime Operational Warfare
You will plan travel as a travel coordinator.
You will assist with the preparation of course material in support of assigned courses.
You will maintain a computer database in Excel, Microsoft Access, or similar program to keep data current.
You will create documents (e.g., spreadsheets, reports) to provide written responses to requests for information and correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors to type and format documents.
You will answer general inquiries to assist in administrative functions.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 50 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite or similar application to create, copy, edit, and print forms, memos and letters; 2) Reviewing correspondence for accuracy of grammar and format; 3) Utilizing databases or spreadsheets to create, enter, revise, sort, calculate and retrieve data for reports; and 4) Preparing correspondence including business letters, memoranda, directives, and reports. Examples of office automation work, includes word processing, either solely or in combination with clerical work, and 5) Communicating effectively in writing and verbally while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. NOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position.
