You will serve as a Program Assistant in the Information Management (IM) Office (BUPERS-07), Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS), Millington, TN.

Duties

You will improve data quality, controlled access process, system operation and requirements to develop system specifications and evaluation to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. You will develop evaluation process and procedures for the evaluation of administrative control systems designed to prevent waste, loss, unauthorized use of misappropriation of IM/IT assets. You will use multiple databases, spreadsheets and other data visualization tools to create documents. You will perform administrative tasks (e.g. filing and records keeping, organizing and coordinating meetings and conferences, order office supplies).

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is primarily sedentary with some walking, bending, stooping and carrying of light items such as books, files and records.
  • Work is performed in an office or similar setting which is adequately lighted and climate controlled.
  • The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that requires the practice of normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices and meeting rooms.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Identify and report strategic enterprise data needs in support of business capabilities; 2) Study reports on program workload figures and production rates to determine the extent of deviation from established goals and requirements; 3) Follow established procedures, analyze data asset value and associated data management costs; and 4) Promote ethical handling of data, data privacy, confidentiality and security needs in accordance with established and future policies, standards and procedures Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
