You will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist in the Information Technology and Cyber Security (Information Technology and Cyber Security Department) Department, Code 109 of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will provide information technology (IT) field support and technician services for specified areas of responsibility on the Command Legacy Network (CMDNET).
You will respond to requests for information systems related difficulties, analyze and evaluate problems and provide immediate solutions whenever possible.
You will scan, patch, and/or install updates to existing workstation operating systems.
You will research, analyze, and submit IT purchase requests as needed and provide the customer with regular status updates.
You will research, evaluate, and report on trends and patterns of customer reported issues.
You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of customer support services.
Requirements
- Work may include assignment to second, third, or rotating shifts.
- Work may involve overtime or callback.
- Incumbent is expected to travel and must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued passport and credit card.
- Incumbent is expected to understand the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and the protection of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) - OPNAVINST9210.3.
- An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous learning must be documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
- The incumbent must obtain the required credentials within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for DCWF role of (411 and Technical Support Specialist) proficiency level (Intermediate).

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing information technology customer support services by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving software and hardware problems in response to customer reported incidents, minimizing customer downtime. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
