In this position you will perform duties as a Senior IT Specialist providing a wide range of IT and network security services tailored to support critical in-garrison, deployed command, control mission information, processes, and systems. First level supervisor, planning, directing of four civilians with potential for growth and military personnel.

Performs as base-level ISSM, senior IT specialist, network A&A, and security Risk Management Framework (RMF) duties. As the base network ISSM and RMF subject matter expert, assumes primary responsibility for the Cybersecurity posture and risk management of assigned classified and unclassified circuit-enclaves and computer networks. Conducts A&A actions in accordance with applicable government guidance, to research, coordinate, and document circuit-enclave security posture and security control compliance.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment.
Serves as senior technical advisor on vast array of cybersecurity topics to include vulnerability analysis and policies, A&A process, and IT. Stays abreast of changes in policy direction, keeping leadership informed of impacts on organizational requirements.
Responsible for keeping the Eglin community/stakeholders informed of latest cybersecurity guidance and policies by various methods i.e. emails, calls, SharePoint, and Teams and/or live briefs.

- This position MAY be eligible for relocation expenses reimbursed (PCS costs MAY be paid). Specifics will be discussed with the Selecting Official

- Work may require short-term CONUS travel away from the normal duty station.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime and may require occasional 12 hour shifts.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
- Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must obtain a certification that meets IAM Level II requirements within six months of assignment of these duties.
- A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
- This position meets the professional exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.210).

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alt A) positions located here
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-12 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is coordinating, advising, planning, and organizing all activities related to the cybersecurity and A&A of the organizations classified and unclassified base network enclaves; perform duties as a senior information technology (IT) specialist providing a wide range of IT and network security services tailored to support critical in-garrison and deployed command, control, and mission information, processes, and systems and providing advanced knowledge and skill in the use of IT systems.
Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
At least three years of Risk Management Framework development experience desired
At least two years of leadership/supervisory experience desired
At least two years of IT technical experience with STIGs, patching, vulnerability management, configuring/updating network devices, and/or performing system admin duties desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of Cybersecurity, IT, and Information Management. Assessing, planning, managing, monitoring, and evaluating Cybersecurity, IT, or Information Management projects and resources as well as monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Ability to lead and manage information systems planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance as well as ability to make decisions or recommendations that significantly impact important agency Cybersecurity, IT, or Information Management policies or programs.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of IT and information security (INFOSEC) requirements for A&A, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advise on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of A&A reviews
Expert knowledge of information technology and information security industry standards, cost-benefits analysis methods, and analysis to performance data to prepare persuasive recommendations in support of cybersecurity requirements.
Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
Knowledge of the Communications Squadron mission, internal processes, and policies.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
Education
Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
