You will serve as the FACILITY MANAGEMENT DIVISION DIRECTOR (FMD) at PWD Bethesda within the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will assign tasks and priorities for employees to accomplish a facility department's business goals. You will develop long-term facility requirements plans, site planning, and project development (special projects, construction, demolition). You will coordinate personnel or equipment resources to achieve facility project goals. You will partner with project managers to design sustainment projects for existing facilities. You will evaluate possible approaches and solutions to unusual maintenance and repair problems using technical judgment, experience, and exploration of available resources. You will be responsible for the official real property inventory; executing space utilization and maintenance programs to manage and maintain facilities, land and other resources within the installation.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supervising or leading a diverse team of professional and technical personnel providing facilities management work and services and support the Commands Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program; 2) Managing inspection programs for facilities maintenance including work planning, training requirements, records management, obtaining required tools, identifying staffing requirements, and overseeing execution; 3) Overseeing maintenance inventory for inspection programs, databases, and spreadsheets to track work; 4) Reviewing engineering proposals, drawings, specifications, etc. used in the design, construction, alteration and/or repair of facilities; 5) Developing long term facility requirements plans, site planning. and project development (special projects, construction, demolition); 6) Manage space utilization and maintenance programs to maintain facilities, land and other resources within the installation that may include piers, air fields, hangars, harbors, family housing, utilities, etc. (Note: This information must be supported by your resume to be considered for this position.)
