You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the NDT Examiner & RASO Branch of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will perform engineering technician duties directly related to the mission of the Branch, including assignments related to the following engineering disciplines: materials, metallurgy, welding, nuclear and nondestructive testing.
You will be the refit facility technical expert in the NDT methods(s) in which they are certified to include (Visual/dimensional, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, ultrasonic, Eddy Current and Metallography).
You will be required to certify NDT inspectors, investigate technical problems, monitor refit facility work practices, perform audits, and prepare written reports.
You will keep abreast of new state-of-the-are developments in NDT applicable to ship repair and alteration.
You will review technical procedures from other shipyards and refit organizations pertaining to nuclear and non-nuclear quality control and nondestructive testing.

- The radiographic examiner must meet the training and qualification requirements for radiographer as specified in TRIREFFAC, KINGS BAY GA Instructions 5100.60 and 5100. 4 F
- To become an NDT examiner you must be certified by NAVSEA.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. -Experience with nondestructive testing on ships or submarines structures.
-Experience with radiography, ultrasonic testing or eddy current method of Nondestructive Testing (NDT) on ships or submarines.
-Experience with inspections, audits, and investigations of nondestructive testing on ships or submarines structures.
-Experience using the information gained from the analysis and assessment to direct training and subsequent testing toward areas identified as weak or in need of improvement.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
