You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Security Support Division, Security Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple vacancies within the Security Department.
Duties
You will provide daily security support in a wide range of security functional areas.
You will assure compliance with established security policies and procedures and coordinate command security requirements.
You will analyze and research security issues, identify solutions, and communicate those solutions effectively, both orally and in writing.
You will develop and maintain Security Standard Operating Procedures.
You will provide security support and maintain access control logs for certified spaces.
You will perform self-inspections of secure facilities and ensure findings are addressed and closed out or mitigated to an acceptable level if risk.
You will provide assistance with command supported security exercises and activities.
You will be responsible for reporting to the Command Security Manager security incidents and electronic spillages.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DA-03:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Applying security policies and procedures for the proper protection of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Providing training to the workforce pertaining to security support in a wide range of security functional areas including information security, physical security, personnel security, communications security, foreign disclosure and general security administration; 3) Responding to security incidents and communicating with team members; 4) Analyzing security concerns and providing recommendations to leadership.
DA-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band (DA-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Advising and applying security policies and procedures for the proper protection of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Providing training to the workforce pertaining to security support in a wide range of security functional areas including information security, physical security, personnel security, communications security, foreign disclosure and general security administration; 3) Managing and leading other security specialists and assistants from an oversight perspective and providing guidance; 4) Reporting security incidents, providing immediate guidance, and recommending corrective action; 5) Performing inspections, reporting findings, and mitigating risks.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DA-03:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
