About the Position: This position is in the Naval Medical Center Office of Dir. of Clinical Support, San Diego, California. San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate. Immense Balboa Park is the site of the San Diego Zoo, as well as numerous art galleries, art studios museums and gardens. A deep harbor is the Home to a large active naval fleet, with the USS Midway an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, open to the public.
Duties
Develop and plans focused programs to provide cost effective alternatives for health care delivery.
Provide administrative management of health care delivery to eligible beneficiaries within the Market.
Plan and carry out assignments and special projects as assigned by Assistant Director for Healthcare Operations
Serve under the Assistant Director for Healthcare Operations (HCO).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing various databases and healthcare systems to monitor the healthcare delivery processes within a medical treatment facility; providing administrative support in budget, personnel, and resource management; analyzing healthcare data to identify discrepancies and provide recommendations of solutions .
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
