This position, located within the Atlanta VA Medical Center, works to assist the Infection Prevention and Control within Infectious Disease Department in administrative and program support.
Duties
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties include but not limited to:
Processes all incoming/outgoing correspondence and service line control policies for the department;
Utilizes a variety of software programs and communication tools to prepare documents, presentations, or reports ensuring accuracy and completeness;
Reviews the department intranet site and SharePoint website to identify policy revision schedules and necessary updates;
Compiles monthly reports for distribution to committee members;
Leads the annual education programs to provide information to patients that promotes infection prevention;
Verifies and updates patient clinical records;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: GS-6 Have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal Service, that has provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant? Qualifying experience includes managing and coordinating timely revisions and updates to policies, developing and editing reports, collaborating with colleagues in preparing education, training, and support materials, processing all incoming/outgoing correspondence and service line control policies for the department, leading the annual education programs to provide information to patients that promotes infection prevention, verifying and updating patient clinical records.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However. there may be some walking; standing: bending: carrying of light items such as papers. books. small parts; or driving an automobile. etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or libraries. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
