This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief Engineer, Planning and Project Development Division, Technical Support Branch (TSB). TSB provides technical services for development and maintenance of construction specifications, provision of construction cost estimates, and implementation and operation of the agency computer-aided design (CAD) system. The selectee serves as system administrator for the AOC’s CAD and building information modeling (BIM) system.

Duties

The individual selected for this position will function as the designated top-level CAD & BIM systems management subject matter expert (SME) in the agency.

Specialized experience for this position includes the following: Broad knowledge of and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) systems supporting building construction projects and facilities operations and maintenance. Troubleshooting and providing solutions to customer issues within the CAD environment. Providing support to senior specialists with network applications, including assessment, design, development, installation and maintenance. Communicating moderately complex information to managers and peers to resolve networking issues. Coordinating and managing CAD-related contract services and deliverables. For the GS-13: Candidates for the GS-13 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-12) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes the following: Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) systems supporting building construction projects and facilities operations and maintenance. Developing and implementing network application procedures and/or functional requirements for CAD systems and applications. Testing, troubleshooting and providing solutions to customer issues within the CAD environment. Applying analytical methods, principles, management concepts, and appropriate evaluation techniques to ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures. Serving as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or equivalent for CAD-related projects and activities.
