You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) in the BUSINESS DIRECTOR of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will advise staff and mangers of correct administrative and correspondence methods, policies, and processes to use. You will initiate, prepare, package, track and distribute correspondence and program documents from short phrases or ideas, verbal instructions, rough notes and handwritten or typed sources to final form. You will initiate arrangements for official travel in DTS (Defense Travel System) for supported managers and their staff. You will evaluate, establish, set up, adjust and reschedule meetings and appointments based own personal knowledge and/or staff requests. You will receive, distribute, prepare incoming/outgoing mail and answer telephone calls.

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising staff and managers of correct administrative and correspondence methods, policies and processes; 2) Initiating, preparing, packaging, tracking and distributing correspondence and program documents in accordance with program requirements; 3) Preparing reports and briefings to ensure accuracy; and 4) Preparing official travel for managers and staff. **NOTE** This information must be clearly supported in your resume.
