The IT SPEC (INFOSEC) position is located at the Department of Justice, U.S. National Central Bureau of the International Criminal Police Organization (USNCB), also known as INTERPOL Washington, in the Information Technology Division (ITD). The employee administers a full range of IT functions in support of USNCB's mission. This announcement is limited to the first 100 applicants received.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) generally include, but are not limited to, the following: -Perform security reviews, identifies gaps in security architecture, and develops security risk management plans. -Develop strategies for responding to future IT security issues. -Advise senior management on cost-benefit analysis of information security programs, policies, processes, and elements. -Manage IT projects with high complexity or risk, such as agency-wide system integrations that include large-scale enterprise resource planning. -Develop and implements procedures for effective data management. -Lead analyses, projects, issues, or programs impacting component organizations. -Perform budget and spending analysis on projects and programs.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
  • You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at (GS-2210-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). Basic Requirement: To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-14, all applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: (1) Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. (2) Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. (3) Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. (4) Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the basic qualifications listed above, all applicants must have the following: For the GS-14: Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as performing budget and financial management, to include data analysis, budget development and execution, financial management transactions, and/or procurement preparation; AND performing IT project management; AND performing cybersecurity operations and analysis, to include security planning and documentation, security reviews, cybersecurity data analysis, and/or cybersecurity audits and policies. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement. Education
