You will serve as a in the TRAINING SPECIALIST of THE BASIC SCHOOL (TBS), TRAINING COMMAND, TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND (TECOM), Quantico, VA. working directly for the Testing and Evaluation Officer, a Captain, 8006. The incumbent performs a wide
variety of duties relative to testing and evaluation and institutional effectiveness for programs of instruction (POIs) and the entire academic process at TBS.
Duties
You will assist the Testing and Evaluating Officer in guiding, mentoring, training, and supervising the Testing and Evaluation section in creation and administration of student evaluations and institutional effectiveness instruments.
You will develop reliable and valid testing materials formative and summative.
You will study course objectives, outlines, and other available training materials or consults instructors or subject matter experts (SMEs) in developing test items.
You will analyze trial administration of test to determine reliability and presents recommendations on which test items use.
You will assist in developing or revising objective test.
You will determine suitability for intended use, ease of administration and scoring, misleading terminology, overlapping items, and items with clues to answers and similar deficiencies.
You will identify training requirements that will permit section personnel to better accomplish their projects using state-of-the-art instructional design concepts, technology, and procedures.
You will assist with instructional and remediation duties in support of all students, staff and instructors, at TBS and especially in direct support of the POIs and the Instructor Education Program.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing testing and evaluation for Programs of Instruction (POIs), developing testing materials, and reviewing and preparing analytical and statistical reports.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
