About the Position: This position is located at the Human Resources Command, The Adjutant General Directorate, Evaluations Selections and Promotions Division, Fort Knox, KY. Performs a variety of duties in support of the Army's program for promotion of Reserve Components and National Guards Commissioned and Warrant Officers.
Duties
Ensure quality customer service is provided by resolving inquiries or complaints promptly.
Prepare written communication in a clear and concise manner with correct format, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Ensure an organized and regulatory compliant response to inquiries.
Use a personal computer and software applications to support office functions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves: Serving as a human resources assistant at Headquarters level and conducting business processes in evaluations, selections, and promotions functions supporting these agency-wide Systems (policy and procedures) for personnel in all agency components. Examples of actions include: receiving and reviewing evaluations and placing quality documents in Official Personnel Files quickly, the agency Redress System, executing and monitoring merit promotions and special promotion actions, and conducting a myriad board and board membership support activities during pre-, during, and post-board operations. Using and applying knowledge of agency policy (regulations, pamphlets, and agency memoranda) in each of these areas. Conducting the daily business of each function using general office software packages/applications and using both customized and off-the-shelf computer and web based applications, as appropriate for each function.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
