The incumbent is directly accountable to the Business Manager and Chiefs of the listed Sections for the overall planning, implementation and analysis of activities that relate to the daily administrative, educational, and clinical operations of these Sections.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepares and submits QI reports in accordance with established policy and regulations on a monthly basis to the Section Chiefs and Medicine Service leadership.
Supports each of the Section Chiefs administrative needs, to include minute taking, calendar management, arranging meetings, mail distribution, etc.
Provides general administrative support for the physician staff of each of the sections including making or ensuring travel arrangement are made and completing or ensuring the necessary reimbursement forms are completed for Sections' physicians attending conferences.
Works closely with sections to coordinate monthly evaluation reports, document monthly reports for Medical Students and Residents on inpatient services, and schedule semi-annual professional evaluations with Medical Students and Residents.
Assists with and oversees the scheduling and orientation of medical students, residents, and fellows rating through the Sections, coordinating with the VA physicians and administrative staff of the academic affiliate.
Serves as the Service ADPAC and PIV Sponsor to assure that employees, students/residents are properly processed and have VA computer access in order to participate in the clinics and inpatient service.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary; some slight physical effort may be required. Occasional walking between departments to attend meetings and to retrieve information and documents are required.

This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/14/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: (1) Collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; (2) Processing documents and reports; (3) Establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; (4) Performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendars, database and/or graphics; and (5) Answering telephones, referring visitors, and providing information.
