About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, Operations Division, Field Artillery Branch, Fort Knox KY
Duties
Review unit strengths and open requisitions to ensure assignments are made by established priorities IAW ACMG; highlights discrepancies for review to the Branch Chief and Civilian Supervisor.
Screen and select/nominate Soldiers for broadening assignments to units such as Army Recruiting Command as Recruiters, Drill Sergeants, Equal Opportunity Advisor/Inspector General NCOs and other special duty assignments.
Responsible for the assignments management and professional development, of Enlisted Soldiers in the ranks of Private through Master Sergeant in a select group of Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) or Career Management Fields (CMF).
Fill routine, priority, and validated requisitions while processing a variety of different personnel actions that affect the assignment process.
Review and make recommendations for a myriad of personnel actions such as Joint Domicile requests, Volunteers for Overseas Service, Foreign Service Tour extensions/curtailments, and Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) requests.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to perform Temporary Duty Travel (TDY)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves demonstrated experience in analyzing and/or advising on the effective utilization and assignments of Enlisted personnel; experience in determining unit level strength assessments against Active Component Manning Guidance (ACMG), developing recommendations and alternative solutions to resolve routine problems or to correct discrepancies; experience utilizing systems such as Enlisted Distribution Assignment System (EDAS), Soldier Management System (SMS), Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS); experience interpreting and implementing human resource guidance, policy, and procedures.
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Education

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
