This position is located in the Washington Headquarter Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Facilities Operations and Services Division (FOSD), Facility Operations Group (FOG), and Reservation Facility Related Controls Systems (RFRCS) Branch. The FOG has the responsibility for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all the HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, etc. within the Pentagon Reservation (Pentagon Building and Mark Center).

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: The incumbent serves as an IT Specialist (ENTARCH/INFOSEC) and performs cybersecurity functions to secure, defend, and preserve data, networks, net-centric capabilities in the building Facility Related Control Systems environment by ensuring appropriate security controls and measures are in place, and taking internal defense actions. Reviews network drawings, firewall rule sets, specifications, and other Information Technology (IT) requirements for Computer networking for the Pentagon Utilities and equipment changes and modification throughout the Pentagon reservation. Investigate, conceptualizes and develops advanced HMI utility applications resulting in new methodologies in operating and maintaining building utility systems. Performs project and/or contract management duties. Formulates, plans, implements, manages, tracks and evaluates large scale and extremely complex IT support projects and their associated requirements and risks.

You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One-year specialized experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: 1) developing IT architecture and standards for Facilities Related Control Systems (FRCS), IT governance, and/or systems engineering; 2) analyzing and evaluating methods and techniques to assess system and enterprise architecture; 3) developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility; and preventing and defending against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-9) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: 1) applying a variety of IT principles, concept's, system architecture, and performing system integration methods; 2) interpreting IT policies, standards, and guidelines; and developing IT architecture and standards for Facilities Related Control Systems (FRCS), analyzing and evaluating methods and techniques to assess system and enterprise architecture; and 3)developing procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility; and preventing and defending against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. OR Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You may qualify at the GS-9 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One-year specialized experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: 1) interpreting and implementing IT policies, standards, and guidelines related to Facilities Related Control Systems (FRCS); 2) assessing information systems reliability and accessibility and preventing and defending against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data; and 3) evaluating IT related processes/procedures and developing operating procedures. OR Education: Possessamaster's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You may qualify at the GS-7 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One-year specialized experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-6) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.
