About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. Duties

Manages hazardous and non-hazardous waste turn-in and storage pending pick up for off-site disposal. Arranges for hazardous waste disposal, usually through the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services. Prepares or reviews form DD1348s and/or Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests, and signs manifests certifying that the hazardous waste is packed and marked according to EPA and DOT requirements. Serves as an Environmental Protection Specialist team leader to accomplish on-site surveillance of storage and disposal, and facilities for the temporary storage of hazardous waste throughout the installation. Serves as the Classification Unit Manager for the U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Cavazos. Tracks hazardous waste receipt and disposition, through the Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH-MIS). Interfaces with inspectors, contractors and other regulatory agency personnel as required.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
