About the Position: This PROGRAM MANAGER (DEPUTY PRODUCT MANAGER ACQUISITION) position, NH-0340-04 is located with Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STR) located in Orlando, FL 3282
Duties
Responsible for all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment and product improvements with a multi-million-dollar annual budget.
Interface with external stakeholders such as representatives from OSD, Joint Staff, HQDA, TRADOC, ASA(ALT), PEO Staff, and other commands and agencies, and private industry on all matters effecting program execution.
Based on analysis and evaluation of current programs schedule, budget, and performance objectives develops a comprehensive time-phased and budgeted program designed to meet mission requirements.
Oversees POM planning, cost estimating, program planning, programming, budgeting, program integration, interoperability and oversight.
Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management Practitioner certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
- Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
- Drug Test Required.
- This position requires the selectee to sign a written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least three (3) years.
- The duties of this position require submission of, on an annual basis, SF 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one- year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 50% of the time.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Managing performance, cost, schedule, and risk within the acquisition lifecycle framework in support of assigned projects/programs; (2) Advising on program operations in various areas of the defense acquisition process such as development, test and evaluation, contracting, production, and financial management for program execution; (3) Reviewing Program Objective Memorandum (POM) planning, cost estimating, or life cycle documentation to ensure program objectives are met; and, (4) Coordinating efforts associated with the defense acquisition process required for effective program management.
This definition of specialized experience typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-03/GS-13) position in the federal service.
