With an emphasis on high ethical standards, excellence in public service and the delivery of superlative advice and counsel, our Office performs the legal work for the United States Department of the Interior, and manages the Departmental Ethics Office and Departmental FOIA Office. With more than five hundred total employees, more than four hundred of which are licensed attorneys, the Office strives to provide sound legal services to fulfill the Department's diverse and wide-ranging mission.

Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Division of Administration, Branch of Information Resource Management, duty stationed in Washington, DC. At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: 1. Providing procedural training and guidance to standardize SOL's case-matter tracking practices and support SOL's use of its case-matter tracking system. 2. Coordinating with SOL personnel to understand and document the needs of individual users and workgroups throughout SOL to advocate for system improvements and enhancements. 3. Developing dynamic tabular report templates as necessary and preparing data visualization charts to enhance user dashboards and improve the user experience. 4. Performing quality assurance audits of the data that has been added to the system by SOL personnel. 5. Serving in an authoritative capacity in correcting user errors by editing, merging, or deleting duplicate case-matter records, contact records, tags, and organizations. Telework: The Department of Interior, Office of the Solicitor has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office setting. Salary Range Information: GS-11: $78,592 - $102,166 First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available. This vacancy is also announced as SOL-DAD-24-FS-005(MP) for those applicants who wish to apply and be considered under Merit Promotion procedures.

Qualifications

GS-11 To qualify for the GS-11 position, you must meet the A, B, or C defined below. A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-11, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) Providing procedural training and guidance development support for an organization's case matter tracking system; AND 2) Providing help desk support to system users; AND 3) Ensuring change requests and bug-report tickets are accurate and complete; AND 4) Performing quality assurance data audits and critical analyses of database records to ensure consistency with an organizations policies and guidance. MUST MEET ALL. -OR- B. Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -OR- 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. -OR- LL.M., if related -OR- C. Combination: A combination of successfully completed equivalent education and experience.
