About the Position: Serves as a systems acquisition manager, and advises higher level management on all matters relating to one or more specifically assigned systems. Provides direction, assistance, and support for all operations and activities under the authority of the PM.
Duties
Performs broad and complex studies and analyses across organizational and functional lines on a variety of projects, issues and problem cases.
Advises on assigned systems to lateral organizational elements, higher level management and, when required, foreign Governments on activities concerning assigned systems and missions.
Ensures that all aspects of acquisition reform are incorporated into the final strategy, including future competition of the system and its spare and repair parts.
Develops briefings to management, command and higher headquarters regarding the PMs operations, objectives, goals, and accomplishments.
Conducts conferences to obtain agreements concerning acceptability of the current or envisioned product in relation to current military characteristics and what may be producible and supportable later in the product life cycle.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Practitioner certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08) upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year trial/probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This is a Non-Key Security Cooperation (SC) position based on the duties and responsibilities. The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. The incumbent must complete SC453 SC Acquisition Management-Intermediate Certification.

To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11) position in the federal service.
Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Experience developing objectives for systems acquisition projects; 2) Analyzing portions of acquisition program guidance received from higher headquarters; and 3) Performing broad and complex studies across organizational and functional lines on a variety of projects, issues, and problem cases.
