Duties
Serves as the principle advisor to the Site Director, DLA Installation Management in directing the accomplishment of responsibilities related to activity operations and services encompassing safety and occupational health;
environmental cleanup program and protection, security services, facilities and industrial engineering, equipment management, family morale, welfare and recreation and facility management;
to include master planning and sustainment, restoration and modernization of real property.
Manages an organization that includes functions such as: safety, security and emergency services, environmental, facilities and industrial engineering, and equipment management;
with employees performing technical, administrative and professional work.
Serves as the Deputy and directs activity operations and services related to environmental quality, energy conservation, facility management including master planning, alterations and construction, and common centralized administrative services, etc.
Develops, documents, and operates both internal process and administrative technical controls.
Maintains close contact with local command for coordinating the execution of the DLA Installation Support – Columbus support services;
and keeping abreast of constantly evolving mission requirements, resource capabilities, regulatory restraints, customer base, and workload progression.

Qualifications
To qualify for Supervisory DM Columbus Site Deputy Director, your resume must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Directing staff management personnel or subordinate supervisors in connection with identification of deficiencies in their organization and conduct of special studies which change policy or operating procedures as a result of such studies.
Ability to set and adjust long and short-term priorities; restructure long range goals and objectives; determine program segments to be initiated, dropped, or curtailed; devote resources to program; and assure compatibility and consistency of interpretation, judgment, logic and application of goals and policies.
Planning, managing and directing the work of technical, administrative and professional employees engaged in providing a range of major support services.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
