About the Position: Serves as the senior HR Specialist (Military) responsible for the Army Foreign Area Officer (FAO) program management consisting of accessioning, professional developmment, training, and career progression for military attache personnel worldwide. Position is in Human Resources Command (HRC), Officer Personnel Management Directorate (OPMD), at Fort Knox.
Duties
Independently resolves all training problems and effects necessary coordination and resolves complex and unique problems associated with the training program.
Review and analyzes existing policies and develop or recommends changes as required.
Perform counseling of interested officer personnel in Foreign Area Officer (FAO) program regarding basic qualification requirements, professional development, training, and career progression.
Ensure that each officer has met all the criteria for entry into the FOA program as outlined in the qualification requirements.
Requirements

Experience Required:
To qualify based on your work experience, the resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in career development of military officers administering professional development counseling. Experience in interpreting regulations/policies.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. For this position at the GS-11 grade Level you must possess:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
