You will serve as a FIRE SAFETY OFFICER in the Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center (CNRMC), Engineering Department (Code 200) of CDR NAVY REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CMD. You will provide oversight, direction and management of the Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC) enterprise engaged in the repair, maintenance and modernization of U.S. Naval Ships.
Duties
You will serve as a CNRMC Fire Safety Officer, overseeing the management of the Navy's Fire Safety programs.
You will provide support to the Fire Safety Manager in conducting risk assessment of ship maintenance.
You will be responsible for the development, planning, and execution of CNRMCs Fire Safety and Response Program.
You will ensure compliance with contractual requirements, NAVSEA Standard Items, Navy Instructions, and OSHA laws and regulations.
You will conduct unplanned event/mishap investigations on shipboard fire related incidents and complete detailed report that will be provided to the Fire Safety program manager.
You will be responsible for conducting, attending or facilitating training briefings or meetings as required by CNRMC policies and procedures.
You will evaluate the fire safety and response programs of each RMCs.
You will conduct audits and ensure compliance with established NAVSEA and Navy fire response and safety policy as well as Federal legislation and regulations governing programs.
You will serve as the CNRMC representative on NAVSEA working groups, and tasks actions teams and fire safety conferences, as well as Failure Review Boards (FRB), and Safety Investigations Boards (SIB).

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (GS-11) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading fire safety project/program activities to ensure compliance with fire prevention and safety laws and regulations for maintenance of naval ships.
