About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties

Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of supply operations. Provide authoritative advice, information, or instructions for the assigned area of work. Investigate discrepancies such as shortages, wrong items, etc., in receiving or storage of items. Assure that material required to accomplish scheduled programs are ordered to avoid production delays. Resolve a variety of Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) acquisition of supply operations questions or situations. Schedule on-site visits to the maintenance production lines to discuss supply related planning, execution, and production meetings. Recommend or direct expenditure of funds for premium transportation, double requisitioning or other actions necessary to assure expeditious receipt of materiel in support of critical rebuild programs.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
• Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
• May be required to travel (TDY) 10% of the time for business purposes.
• Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
• Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
• Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
